Egg Hunt #1

Egg Hunting Season has begun! Will had his first taste of the action today, at Mother's Day Out.

I got such a kick out of Will's approach to the hunt.

Most of the children, of course, were eager to grab as many eggs as possible, as quickly as possible. Will, on the other hand, noticed that a certain batch of eggs had clear tops, through which he could see a generous stash of jelly beans. He wasn't at all interested in wasting his time on any of the solid eggs that weren't a "sure bet". He was VERY methodical in choosing ONLY the see-through eggs. So, even though he didn't gather as many eggs as some of the other children, he was very pleased with his carefully chosen stash.

Quality over Quantity...Good work, Will!

(And, by the way, that's one of the baskets I made 12 years ago (yikes!) in my BYU Basket Weaving Class!)

First of all, Will, so funny, way to know what you want and go get it!

Second, Basket Weaving! BYU actually has that class. Basket Weaving Underwater was always the class people joked about taking in college. (I want to A&M) I can't believe BYU had one (not the underwater part though). That's hilarious!

I got to say...great job on the basket though. You obviously made it to last!

The truth is, the reeds have to be VERY wet in order to weave. Otherwise, they break. I always had to weave with a big bucket of water next to me. So, the underwater part is actually true for the materials (just not for the weaver!)
