New Year's Eve Party for Kids!
Several months ago, My friend, Cathy, and I bought a McDonald's Party for 10 kids ($20!) at the preschool auction.
We decided to use it for an early (3:00) New Year's Eve Party. We had the place to ourselves & the kids had a blast!
Gold Kaleidoscopes & Homemade Sparklers!

Cute Cute Cute
Lila seriously cracks me up.
It just hurts my heart to think about her growing up!
Had to grab my camera this morning, when she was stomping around the house with her jammies, Rod's cowboy boots, and multiple purses!

Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a big fun day!
Here are some highlights...
The jeep was a hit!
Lila was (obviously) fired up about her Unicorn Pillow Pet!
Savannah was so happy with her tracing projector.
Will couldn't have been more thrilled with his dinosaurs.
No Hinze holiday is complete without Neccos!
Fancy stuff for Little Lila (I love those big brown eyes!)
The kids loved opening their gifts from each other.
They were so sweet about it!
Savannah finally got some nuts for her nutcracker.
Lila enjoyed our traditional German Pancake breakfast.
Savannah loved playing with the boxes!
Fun with Lincoln Logs.
Will helped make Snowman Rice Krispy Treats.
Lots of time with the Hamsters today!
Lila couldn't get enough of her
singing/dancing/story-telling Pinkie Pie.
Seriously freaky for us. Seriously fun for her!
(disclaimer: this toy was given to us...I promise I didn't pay money for such a creepy critter!)
No picture of the jungle gym...but the kids love it!!!!

christmas Countdown - December 24th
So much excitement in the Hinze Home on Christmas Eve!
This morning, we worked on the gingerbread house

This afternoon, we bought our Chinese Hamsters!
They are sisters and have been named Lily (by Savannah), Rhino (by Will) & Tommy (by Lila).
They are adjusting well to their new home--we are so happy to have them!
This evening, we ate Christmas Eve dinner at Mai's, our favorite spot for Vietnamese.
Tonight we carried out our Hinze Family Christmas Eve traditions.
Upon arriving home from dinner, we were doorbell ditched by someone (?) who left new pajamas on our doorstep.
All jammied up, the kids got busy rolling around the ice cream ball.
We sang Christmas songs while passing the ball around in a circle, "Musical Chairs" style.
The kids then took turns taking the ball for a ride in the stroller.
The ball took a break in the freezer while we read scriptures and watched "Luke 2".
We then busted out a new tradition!
Every day in December, the kids have been telling me something nice they did for someone else. Since I had recorded their daily reports on the blog, I was able to print them all out on tiny slips of paper. We read all of the good deeds out loud & placed the slips of paper in these fancy little boxes. The kids then placed the boxes under the tree, as their gifts to Jesus this year. It was fun to hear how much good everyone had done, and the kids were so proud of themselves.
Then, of course, we busted out the ice cream & sprinkled it with peppermint candies.
After the kids went to bed, Rod & I spent several hours working on this set-up
We can't wait for tomorrow morning!!!
(But I hate to think of this holiday season coming to a close--it's been such a fun one!)

Christmas Countdown - December 23rd
Today, this group of crazy kids...

Visited the Downtown Neiman Marcus...

To climb through the holiday window display!

This year, Neiman Marcus chose an "Outer Space" theme, and the kids crawled through all sorts of cool tunnels & flew down a crazy slide at the end. They all loved it so much, they must have done it 7 or 8 times. You would have thought they were at Disneyland!
Daily Reports:
Savannah - I cleaned my room
Will - I tried to not tease my sisters
Lila - I was nice to Will
