We had so much fun cheering him on and we are so proud of his accomplishment. Always the athlete, always the competitor, and always up for a good challenge...that's our Rod!
And, just for fun, here's a little bit of Rod's racing history...
1999 St George Marathon (6 months after we were married)
2000 St. George Marathon (I was so inspired by watching the 1999 race that we both signed up in 2000. Although Rod ran the race faster than me, he waited for me at mile 25 so we could cross the finish line together!)
2001 BYU Biathlon (For this one, Rod swam a mile with absolutely NO training & ran in FREEZING weather. Crazy.)
2001 BYU Graduation (Since I was digging through old college photos, I couldn't resist scanning in this one! Perhaps the "finish line" of Rod's biggest race ever!)
2002 Dallas White Rock Marathon (Rod & I split this one--I ran the first half & he ran the second half. For the record, our time here is not accurate. We were much faster, but had trouble at the "pass off" station)
2007 Dallas White Rock Marathon (Rod ran 6 miles of a 5-person relay. Obviously not enough distance to wear him out!)
2010 Dallas White Rock Marathon (Everyone's giving a big "thumbs up" for Daddy!)
