(Can you say Mini-Rod?)
Given that we had such a fantastic photo shoot just minutes before the game, we really anticipated some serious fun out on the field. After about 30 seconds of play, Savannah was completely overwhelmed by all of the yelling & craziness. She spent the entire game sitting with Mommy on the sidelines, crying crocodile tears. Will, who was missing his nap in order to have some "Hinze Family Fun" completely melted down as well.
So, here I am, holding 2 sobbing babies, trying to maintain a little bit of composure & enthusiasm for life:
And here is Coach Rod, exiting the field after a long, exhausting, completely insane game:
Unfortunately, the Pink Ponies lost their intense battle with the Hippie Chicks. As a side note, the score was 4-3, but one of the Pink Ponies scored a point in the Hippie Chicks' goal. So "technically", had our girl gone in the right direction, we would have won...
We figure that, with this experience as a starting point, our season can only improve. Wish us better luck next week!

With girls it's always about the clothes. Way to go Savannah. You look smashing in your uniform. Have fun getting it dirty next week.
Johnny definitely faired better with his first soccer game. That is too bad it didn't go as well as expected. Good luck next week!
I agree, it is all about the clothes and Savannah looked adorable! She and Dre are both looking so big to me lately! Seems like yesterday they were just 6 mo. old!
She's so stinkin' cute! Love the uniform and all the gear.
It reminds me of my nephew who would randomly get tired at his scocer games and lie down in the middle of the field to "rest" as the game continued on all around him.
Knowing Savannah - she'll be "back in the game" in no time. We'd love to come cheer her on sometime. :)
Awesome pics! I can't believe Savannah is old enough to play soccer? The breaking down crying thing-- that's exactly what Rod did when I took him on in Tennis...ok, jk. Great pictures!
Jenny,
Love these pictures! And you're right--Rod is the cutest thing on the field. What a great dad!

Nice pants!
She looks tough! Very un-Savannah of her to sit the game out.
