Brooke & Aaron--What a Visit!

We recently had the COMPLETE pleasure of hosting my brother & sister-in-law for 2 short but definitely action-packed days in Dallas.

Somehow, they brought the California weather with them. We enjoyed perfectly sunny, beautiful days while they were here.

They arrived late on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, we went to church & then came home for a fantastic Hinze Family pancake breakfast.

We then headed to the Arboretum, where we spent SEVERAL hours enjoying the gardens, live music on the lawn, relaxing walks, and great company.

On Monday morning, we all piled into the car for a big trip to Fossil Rim. I've been 5 times now, and this was just by far my best trip. The park was practically empty, the weather was perfect, and we just all enjoyed it so much. The animals were AMAZING--the giraffes wouldn't leave us alone! The kids behaved so well, and Brooke & Aaron just made it all very fun.

After Fossil Rim, we headed to the park to watch Rod & Uncle Aaron battle it out on the tennis court.

We then enjoyed our favorite brisket tacos at Mi Cocina, followed by a tour of downtown Dallas, including a visit to Rod's office & a stop at Paciugo for Gelato.

We hated to see Brooke & Aaron leave & hope they can come again some day. They are amazing with the kids, and just a relaxing couple to be around. Thanks for the memories!!!

I really need to come and visit you guys. You have so many fun things to do within a short distance of your home. I have noticed that in many of your posts you mention food. Mamoo would be proud. We grandchildren incorporate food into any family/friend gathering. Food makes everything better! Do you remember when Mamoo would hide toothpicks in her chocolate cake? I did that with my family and Daryl was there and told me that I was going to kill somebody with one of those. When I told him that I learned it from Mamoo, he backed off. =) Sorry about the long comment.

Katie, I miss you!!!!
We would LOVE to have you ANY time!!!
Yes, we do love to eat, and I must admit that most of my Mamoo reminiscing is done in the kitchen--I always think about her when I'm cooking :)
